Because chronic issues typically develop over years, they usually require multiple treatments to achieve lasting improvement. Your practitioner may also recommend herbal medicine to complement your acupuncture treatments.

The risks are low when performed by a competent, certified practitioner using sterile, single-use needles. Potential side effects include soreness, minor bleeding, or bruising at the needle site. These reactions are temporary and usually are not bothersome.

No, Cupping marks are not bruises. Cupping marks in fact shows different level of toxin and stagnation in your body. With regular cupping, marks often stops appearing even with strong suction. No mark indicates very good circulation in your body.

Payments and Insurance
More and more major insurance carriers recognize that acupuncture is a powerful medical treatment to help their members to heal from pain and various illnesses. It’s non-invasive, has no side effects, and is very cost efficient. Please check with your employer and insurance company to request that your policy includes acupuncture coverage.
We are in-network with Blue Cross Blue Shield MA PPO and HMO. Stay tuned for the in-network announcement for other insurance companies. If you would like to submit a claim to your insurance, please do let us know. We can generate a super bill/ invoice for you. We also accept HSA and FSA; acupuncture is an IRS-approved medical expense.

Treatment duration varies based on the patient’s age and overall health status. For patients under 40 years of age, a typical treatment cycle is approximately three months, then reassessed.

We have a 24-hour cancellation policy in respect and to better serve all our patients. If the appointment is not cancelled within 24 hours, a fee of $50 will be charged.

We accept Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS) insurance. To explore if your plan covers acupuncture and if this office accepts your insurance, please check with your eligibility online ( My Blue). Acupuncture is also HSA and FSA-eligible and is a viable option for copays and out-of-pocket patients (when acupuncture is not covered).
For Medicare and Medicare Advantage Plan patients: This office is identified as an ‘independent acupuncturist’ and not under the supervision of a physician. Therefore, we are not recognized as qualifying practitioners to provide care. This stands for Medicare Advantage Plans, despite being managed by private insurance.
The supervision information from the Medicare guidelines:
“Benefit is not covered when solely provided by an independent acupuncturist. Auxiliary personnel furnishing acupuncture must be under the appropriate level of supervision of a physician, PA, or NP/CNS required by our regulations at 42 CFR §§ 410.26 and 410.27.”cription
